Cara Needs Support From Us!
Well, I found out last night that Cara had been scrapped for a 3rd time. I almost expected gen AI users to keep going after the first individual’s attempt. I’m not sure if anyone here was waiting for updates from me, but I believe it’s important to share what I’m seeing.
Here is another post from Jingna sharing a donation link to help with legal funds. The good news is $60K out of $70K has been raised in a single day! It’s beautiful to see people coming together to help out a smaller platform.
The development team and users of the site don’t deserve to be treated so disrespectfully. At this point, anyone scrapping art and information is doing it on purpose. This is all an experiment for them. I’m infuriated about how us artists keep being repeatedly targeted.

I donated a coffee , but I wish I could do more. I hope any amount people give can help make a difference. I don’t trust GoFundMe as much. It supposedly keeps a certain percentage of what is donated. So at least there’s other ways to give back.
The team behind Cara had good intentions from the beginning. I’m not giving up hope, because that’s what these scrappers would want. Internet strangers and their AI “art” don’t have power over me. Maybe trying to remain optimistic is what’s helping me stay calm.
Any additional help would be deeply appreciated. Spreading the word to raise awareness would be an excellent first step to take. I don’t want to add pressure since times are tough for a lot of us. It’s understandable if you can’t donate money.
As of now, I’ve left supportive comments when I can. Having a website full of real artwork has given me motivation again. The community seems sincere. The team is actively working to take further action. Sites like Cara don’t come around very often. I would like to get the chance to properly settle in.
