Blogging As A Private Person

Having some anonymity on my blog has been comforting. Whether it’s online or in person, I don’t want people in all of my business. If being in my 20s has taught me anything, it’s that I should be careful of what I share publicly.

Which is why I removed my projects page. If I ever want to post about a project, I’ll share updates through an entry instead. I’m on the fence about posting drawings or paintings now. Sections of the internet haven’t been very compassionate of artists. Any readers here will be the first to know if I gain the confidence to try!

It’s gotten harder to feel safe in many spaces. I know others feel similarly. Which is why we’re here, right? I’m only now realizing how much writing daily has been helping me cope with problems. I’ve been putting down the deeply personal thoughts in my notebooks. Here is where I can let loose more often. Even ranting about an issue helps me decompress. It helps me let go of the negative energy I keep bottled up inside.

When I went through The Artist’s Way, I was assigned to do Morning Pages. 3 pages full of any thoughts that I needed to get out. Every day in the morning when I first woke up. No overthinking, just doing. Since then I’ve made my own rule and journal after breakfast or dinner.

It’s nice to not feel entirely alone with my fact-paced brain. I’m proud of how much I’ve opened up about for Blaugust. I’m aiming to get out of my shell a little more each day. I plan to write a proper overview of the event on the 31st. Stay tuned!
